Dudley Council apprentices develop professional skills, knowledge and confidence and an opportunity to gain a recognised qualification through its Apprenticeship Programme.  Dudley Council is recognised as the highest recruiter of apprentices in the Black Country.

So if you are interested here are 5 good reasons to start your Apprenticeship with Dudley Council:-

  • A real alternative to University / college

  • Improve your prospects

Dudley Council Plus is Dudley Council’s corporate contact centre. We are a busy frontline service, dealing with thousands of telephone calls, visits, electronic contacts and payments every week. Our staff deal with various aspects of work and provide service resolution wherever possible (not just a switchboard service).

Apprentices gain vast customer contact experience during a placement with us, dealing with a diverse customer base in a demanding first point of contact environment. You will experience performance monitoring and statistical analysis and receive detailed training on many services within the council in order to handle a variety of customer enquiries.

Main work area will be Dudley Council House, Priory Road, Dudley, DY1 1HF. However, we have staff working from various locations in towns across the borough and the opportunity will be available for you to work with staff at other locations too in order to maximise your experience (you must therefore be prepared to work from any DMBC building in the borough).

Fixed Term Contract for 15 Months

An Apprenticeship with Dudley MBC will give you the opportunity to gain 'hands on' experience in the workplace whilst getting paid. The work you undertake in this role will support you towards completing a Level 3 apprenticeship in Customer Service.

The Benefits of an Apprenticeship:

  • Learning while you work
  • Developing practical skills & knowledge
  • Gaining job learning from other team members

We can offer:

  • Training, development & work experience
  • Recognised Level 3 apprenticeship
  • Paid annual leave & flexible working hours
  • A good support network throughout your apprenticeship

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • No experience is required as full training will be provided.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or C or higher, including English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good IT Skills
  • Commitment to further development through training
