Location: Hurst Green Primary School
Start date: September 2026
Contract: Fixed term (1 year in the first instance), with the potential to progress based on need and performance
Hours: 29.5 hours, 39 weeks per year

We are a large, two-form entry primary school with a strong sense of purpose and a clear direction for improvement. Our work is focused on building a coherent curriculum, strengthening teaching through consistent routines, and ensuring all pupils, regardless of starting point, are supported to succeed.

We are seeking a skilled and thoughtful Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. This role is central to the quality of our provision and will suit someone who understands how young children learn and how to balance care, structure and high expectations.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting high-quality teaching and provision across Nursery/Reception
  • Leading small group work and targeted interventions
  • Supporting early language, communication and personal development
  • Contributing to observation and assessment
  • Working closely with teachers to maintain consistent routines and expectations

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification
  • Has experience within Early Years
  • Understands child development and effective early practice
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates clearly
  • Can take initiative while following agreed approaches

Additional requirements:
 This role includes supporting pupils with medical needs. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Undertake training (for example, diabetic care)
  • Be willing to administer medication following appropriate training and school procedures
