EYFS - Class Teacher
Due to recent expansion, The Brier is seeking to appoint an inspirational EYFS / Year 1 teacher with a passion for delivering high‑quality teaching and learning to pupils with a range of complex SEND needs.
The Brier is a successful all‑age school (4‑16) serving pupils with moderate learning difficulties across two sites. Over the past few years, the complexity of pupils’ needs has increased, requiring a dynamic and specialised approach.
We are looking for outstanding, creative and resilient teacher who can inspire pupils to develop a love for learning within the foundational years, helping them to develop the skills to make sustained progress both academically and emotionally. The successful candidate will be able to deliver an ambitious yet meaningful curriculum to learners with diverse communication and learning requirements.
A detailed knowledge of the EYFS curriculum is highly advantageous.
Key expectations include:
- Strong collaborative skills and a commitment to team working.
- Willingness to develop specialist skills such as Makaton, Team Teach, PECS and Colourful Semantics within daily practice.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with complex communication and learning needs.
This is a permanent position. All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service criminal record check and other pre‑employment checks, reflecting The Brier’s rigorous safeguarding standards.
